This pair activity makes understand more about how polypeptide folds to become a protein. Each colors of the pipe cleaners represent each types of the amino acids. This activity shows the sequence of the amino acids to form the polypeptide which fold into a protein. I learned that different shapes of protein are from the sequence of amino acids and then it flows to form different shape of proteins. To make the polypeptide the amino acids that have charges attract each others and the hydrophilic surround the hydrophobic. We can make a protein by combine our polypeptide with others' polypeptide which is in the quaternary structure.
The gummy bear DNA activity related to Innovative thinkers of the ESLOs because we be able to use what we have learned about protein structures to apply and make a polypeptide.
